For those who know us well, we have some sticklers we abide by.

Backing up.

Reconciling daily.

Heckling Jerome.

This month, it is AUTOMATION.

The benefit of automation

The fabulous thing about automation is that it minimises admin time and increases efficiency.

Need we say more?

Freeing up time with automated tasks means you have more time for the important stuff. It increases your efficiency by avoiding time-consuming, manual repetition of tasks.

Not only that, it will save you on costs. Sure, it may take some investment to get these apps up and running, but the long-term savings will make up for it in the end.

The fabulous part about this is that most (if not all) software now has the ability to set up recurring tasks so you don’t forget!

If you are yet to set up automated tasks, jump into your software and check out the automated actions available. They can include rent increases, inspections, repairs and maintenance – pretty much all actions you perform on a regular basis.

Once you have this streamlined process in place, you’ll wonder how you ever functioned without it.

Embrace new software

You might be surprised about the number of apps and software available to you as a Property Manager that will improve the productivity and efficiency of your agency.

Chances are you already using such systems and are already benefiting from them.

Could you incorporate more?

Need some help from the pros?

The queen of workflow Hermione from Sidekick is simply the best in the business.

For example, her latest ‘Pimp Your Procedures is a complete template and training package that shows you the exact steps on how to use Trello to turn your office into a streamlined property management machine, so you can stress less and focus on growing your rent roll.

Check out the courses and assets she has on offer to help streamline your day-to-day – you won’t regret it!

What are our top streamlined process must-dos?

We have narrowed down our two favourite process must-dos in the EOMA office.

  1. Always ensure to set up tenancies, tenants and landlords right from the start so there is no receipting to ‘unknown’.
  2. Make sure the tenant move-in date and part payments are set up correctly when taking over Real Estate management and BEFORE funds are received.

We promise if you follow these 2 must-dos, it will make your life 100% easier!

What automation does NOT mean

An important note we’d like to end with is that embracing automation does not mean replacing skilled staff.

It simply enhances the productivity of your staff.

Automating time-consuming, admin-style tasks such as data entry, frees up your staff to upskill or retrain in other areas which will help to grow the business along with benefiting them professionally.

If implemented correctly, it has the potential to be a win-win all round.
